In 1946, Baron Nathan Mayer Victor Rothschild delivered a speech before the House of Lords in which he promoted the compulsory pasteurization of milk in the interests of maintaining healthy food stock in the post-War era while incrementally consolidating control over food production, degrading the quality of milk, and eliminating small farmers.

Who was Victor Rothschild?

Nathan Mayer Victor Rothschild, 3rd Baron Rothchild, was a scientist and dual British-Soviet intelligence agent during World War II who advised Soviet Premier Joseph Stalin. He was also the father of the recently deceased Jacob Rothschild, the family’s influential patriarch.
