Egregious Waste, Fraud, and Abuse at the Pentagon

After World War II, the Pentagon was established as a taxpayer-supported weapons shop to distribute weapons around the world. Once the dollar was decoupled from gold, the syndicate got on with the business of taxpayer-supported empire building and private wealth creation through government contracting

Among those involved in military sales were Saudi arms dealer Adnan Khashoggi and Prince Bernhard of the Netherlands. Since the “fiat currency” was linked to the petro-dollar in which the taxpayers were held liable for public debt, the federal government poured money into the Pentagon, without concern for budgetary constraints.
