Modern banking interests aligned with the crime syndicate for the purposes of empire building, knocking out rivals, and consolidating market share trace to Switzerland where Rothschild established a base of financial power. Following an all-too familiar pattern, the Rothschild were able to wield influence over Switzerland after this country experienced a revolution and a coup of sorts. Within this strategically neutral country, the Rothschilds established the Bank of International Settlements (BIS), a central bank for central banks.
